February 2, 2026
Pittsburgh, PA, February 2, 2026 – Astrata, a leading technology provider accelerating digital quality transformation for payer organizations, today announced the appointment of Margaret O’Kane to its Board of Directors, effective January 22, 2026. With more than three decades of leadership in healthcare quality, O’Kane brings valuable expertise that will help guide Astrata’s innovation and support the industry’s transition to digital quality.

From 1990 to January 2026, Margaret O’Kane served as President of the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. Today, more than 230 million people – representing over 70% of the U.S. population – are covered by NCQA-Accredited health plans that use NCQA’s Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS®) to measure and benchmark quality of care.*
Although her role on the Board of Directors is new, O’Kane has watched the company grow over the past five years. “I’m excited to help Astrata continue to drive advancements in quality measurement technology, a goal that I have championed across the industry for many years. I share their vision of a learning healthcare system built on a foundation of data interoperability and technology. We are entering an era where we will see these disruptive digital technologies becoming an operational reality. It’s wonderful to see so many years of work by so many people finally come to life. Quality measurement should be an effortless by-product of healthcare, not an after-the-fact, burdensome reporting exercise. I’m honored to join the Board and support a team committed to advancing healthcare quality.”
Astrata’s CEO and founder Rebecca Jacobson welcomed O’Kane’s appointment. “NCQA has set the standard for quality measurement nationwide and shaped the next generation of quality measurement technology. We are thrilled to have Peggy’s guidance and advice as we continue our work to develop state-of-the-art digital quality measurement technology. We look forward to continuing to drive innovation together.”
